Oh wow, where has the time gone? Feels like nearly yesterday when I wrote the blog coding and, shortly before that, re-wrote the entire site to what it looks like today.
I never really intended on letting this be as idle as long as it has been nor having empty galleries. Things happened, my life changed, my hobbies changed, and even my social
life as well as my family life changed. So now the big question is, what will become of Murphster Productions? Well for starters, this is my little slice of the world wide web, so as
long as there is the internet, it will be here. Now as what, I'm just not certain any longer; the
blog will remain active and I do post there kind of often, really
whenever I just want to escape the clutches of the social networks or post something neat I just did. I'm not sitting at a computer any longer like I was back when I designed the site and
when I could continually post or update it with new artwork that I had done - I sit at several in different locations all around to do different things (job/home/road) so updating like I used
to becomes taxing to keep track of all the site files in every location without a cloud service and what-not. I just don't have the time for that any longer. Time is an interesting thing, and
it's really precious, especially the free-time that one has.
Well not to get philosophical or anything, that was just the rambling introduction. Anyway, I have been actually working on something on and off for almost 10 years now and it's finally coming together.
It's a story that I started a long time ago and just recently as of writing this, finished proofreading the first draft and now working on correcting it personally so it can be forwarded to
some close friends and family to correct what I cannot perceive. Hopefully, if that all goes well I can take it to the next step and then ultimately get it in the works to be published. I know
the road is challenging, but this is something that I truly would love to see through until the end. I have had great support from family and friends and that has been a great blessing, especially
one person in particular who keeps pushing me to complete it.
Will that ultimately be what this place turns into, a site to look up story stuff? Not sure, might just continue to post artwork and stuff here as time progresses or use it as a universal site for all
of my posts from different websites that I host (or be hosting as it could come to). Although doing that in general is becoming tough. Poor Crystal Reverie has been neglected for as long as I have
retired from Final Fantasy XI, and those are some great people over there that really do need a full-running site, not one that is crippled. So that is a project that needs to be done eventually so I
can fully turn that place over to the Guild Leader and then begin to really focus on other projects. I do have one other hobby site Chaos Bolts 'R' Fun and that revolves around my silly
adventures in World of Warcraft. Might just have one too many places to focus on at this point in time, and yeah I should consider fixing that to focus on the big things - or maybe keep it around to
organize my WoW hobby somewhere else and focus on artwork here.
One thing I would love to do is post more original art and possibly some fanart, which requires me to return to drawing. That is something I've been needing to for quite sometime, but just
haven't really had time to sit down and work on that. If I can get the gist of things again, I might just start working on a webcomic that revolves around my story: either the before, after, or
heck just start comic'ng the entire freaking thing as an alternative to the book. Another thing I like to do is Cartography - I have loved maps since I was like 6 or 7 years old and have drawn a
couple that, to me, haven't come out half bad. So doing those again would be really fun to do - they just take a long time.
Regardless of this, my site, this site, will be getting a huge major overhaul when all of the places get put where they should be. Odds are, the artwork posted will most likely be pulled down
unless it's fairly recent or one of the best of the best and replaced with newer content and most likely story stuff like characters and locations and as the story unfolds, more things could be posted
here or wherever they ultimately are placed. It will be overhauled to the point where I can update it anywhere on the fly instead of one place like it has to be currently so I can readily update more
frequently when the time comes. The color scheme will also change again at that point to something else, not that I am really against it currently, but it does feel a bit outdated lol.
The reason for bringing this whole thing up is to explain why in blazes I have been MIA on updating or adding anything here in nearly 4 years as well as some of my other sites. I'm pretty gosh darn
busy. Things take time, especially when I work 45-50 hours a week in my industry that I worked very hard to break into. It took 24 hours to write this site back in 2008 all from HTML 4.01 as well
as Crystal Reverie. I am going to strive and continue to create and work on my projects and hobbies, but I wanted to post this as a kind of "Finale" post for the main site until I get some of these
huge ideas and personal projects taken care of. Then I can really focus on the other things as well as pursuing a more structured and timely organized place on the world wide web. When I made this
site years and years ago, I never thought it would last this long or be such a part of me even to this day and I'm very happy that it has been. My mind is always pinging through things, it's never just
sitting and not thinking about ideas or anything, the kicker is that I have nearly 4 other worlds in my mind with their own rules and settings that sometimes it gets a tad hard to keep track
of it all XD
So that's it; some unknowns, but it's alright! That is what makes everything an adventure, and it's fun!
They'll be addressed sooner or later and then I'll be able to really bust out some heavy guns!
So this is it, signing off from this part of the site for now.
